My Pledges
While attending City Council meetings in Taylor for the past couple of years,
I have seen some behaviors that I think detract from council members' ability to serve the people well.
So, I make the following pledges to the people of Taylor:
Prepared
I will review and evaluate all materials sent to me prior to council meetings to make sure I understand what is being proposed, can have any discussion questions ready, and have investigated any necessary details.
Ethical
I will perform due diligence on all city suppliers and contractors, evaluating them to ensure they provide the greatest value and respect for the people.
I will accept no personal gifts or favors of any size.
Campaign contributions will not affect my votes.
Candid
I will clearly explain the reasons behind my opinions and my votes in my capacity as a council member. I will not leave my actions shrouded in mystery.
Accessible
I will listen carefully and respond to people's concerns, questions, and suggestions to the best of my ability.
Respectful
I will strive to show respect toward all people, even if our opinions and politics differ considerably.
I will work together with all of the council members to reach the best decisions for the people.
Accountable
I will carefully evaluate expenditures to continue the current administration's fiscal policies that have led to Taylor's good financial health.
